MUSIC NEWS OF THE DECADE!!! |
www.spotify.com |
When Spotify first came out in the US, I immediately recognized it as a game changer, the dream of every music fan since the days of Napster. It appears that about 80% of every song ever recorded is available online for instant playback. I spent the first week trying to “stump” Spotify, but rare was the moment that I thought of something they didn’t have. Yellow Fever? There. Colonel Abrams? There. Add N to x, Jakarta Skyscaper, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, U2? They have ‘em! I’ve haven’t used it as much lately. It’s all so overwhelming. Access to so much music, unfortunately means that albums, songs and artists which may take more than a few listens to appreciate may not get the chance. The commercials are a bit annoying on the free version, but it’s still an amazing way to check out new music for free and fill out all the holes in my music collection. Here is a playlist of some of my favorite discoveries and additions to my collection: http://open.spotify.com/user/dratzlow/playlist/0WUxOdL3lhVhzq6Ycq71gG |
